getting my tattoo redone

In August I got my tattoo redone for the first time ever. When I first got it done in 2017, I clearly knew I have to repaint it a couple of times throughout time because of its position. You use your fingers for everything and with time because you finger also touches with the next finger, the colour fades and fades. Really it wasn't necessary, I probably would've been fine without it, but I said I might as well since I was there to support my brother and my mom as they were getting tattoos. It was quick and fast buuut I can say it hurt ten times more than the first time around. I don't really know why, but my theory is so: when I got my first tattoo, I didn't know what to expect, everything was confusing and I tricked my brain into thinking it would hurt like hell and it did at first, but then, I managed the pain, this time around because I've already been though the process before, I underestimated the pain and I forgot to trick my brain into thinking it would hurt. Seven letters but it felt like forever. And if you wonder why would hurt that much, I can only explain what has been explained to me when I choose the position of the tattoo: the finger is thin with a thin layer of skin and muscle over the bone, the finger is also really vascularized and also a lot of nerves are in the fingers so triple the pain thank you :) Still did it on my finger even after hearing all of that. I probably have said the same thing in my last blog post about my tattoos, but let's talk more about the redoing of this one. The last time around a girl did it, this time a guy did it and immediately after, I've noticed a lot of things that I didn't liked. Not that I am implying that the guys don't do wonderful work, but the girl was more careful, patient, did pay attention to the details and the guy didn't at all. And now, after a few months of healing I can definitely say that the guy used a more wider needle and now the word is noticeably thicker. I don't hate it, but I also liked it before. And another thing he missed, were the details, he didn't quite follow the previous tattoo and if you zoom in closely on the first picture you can see it. I don't know if this is the critique in me talking, or if genuinely everyone can see the difference, but I don't really regret it. But to be honest, I won't get it done for a couple of years now.
