I said I have a story to tell about how we walked three hours in Brussels because we wanted to explore the city in depth and we didn't want to take the subway. So this is it. We knew we wanted to visit a fun exposition type thing called the mini Europe, in which, are recreated in miniature a lot of representative buildings or moments in history from every country in Europe. Pretty self explanatory, and so cool that you can find Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and the tower of Pisa in the same place. In order to arrive at our destination, we had to take the subway from the center and change it a couple of times to get there. But, in a split of a second, we decided to go on an adventure instead. Because we have been in Brussels already and we've pretty much visited all that we had to visit, we didn't have plans for the afternoon, so after we went shopping in the morning, we ate and then we started walking towards the mini Europe. It was a pretty simple walk, going straight from the center for pretty much two hours. It was honestly fun at first, until we got to see the not so funny and aesthetically pleasing part of the town and also not so safety either. But we were good, we kept walking and walking until there were no buildings anymore, no more neighbourhoods, just grass. It was so creepy and at the same time beautiful to see so much green land. And after we kept walking and walking even more, we saw the Atomium, which was a great sign we were walking in the right direction. And finally, we got there after we had a couple of snacks and stops. A little note, we were never worried we weren't going in the right direction, as we are in the 21st century and the google maps is my best friend, but we recognized the Atomium since we've been there before and we knew we had to walk only a little longer to get to our final destination. Don't you worry, because we took the subway on our way back :) It was fun to explore the city in this way, but also kind of creepy at times, when we were in weird neighbourhoods. We made it just in time, because we were the last people that entered the exposition, as it closed its doors for the day after us... pfiuu... another two more minutes and we would've walked those three hours for nothing and that would've been a solid thing to be pissed at.
