I wanted this to happen for the longest time ever. And it finally did. And I am so happy it did, because I wanted to have a hair transformation to a lighter, more blonder version. Now I would do it again because I need a little freshen up, but I am gonna wait a little longer.
I've had my hair dyed before, about 5 years ago, and I liked it at first when it had colour in it and then, it turned lighter and lighter until the difference was so big, it looked really botched. And the texture of my hair changed drastically, but I would say for the best, in my case. When I had my natural hair, it was soft yes, but it remained soft even after the dye, but it had grip and my hair could finally hold a curl. hooray. Before the dye, I could never have curly hair or wavy hair, only straight, because it would not hold at all. I used to spend hours curling at a high temperature and then, I had curls for maybe half an hour and then slowly nothing. So from that point of view, yes, I loved how it made my hair more textured.
The second time around, which you can see slightly in the first picture I wanted to try something else and both me and my hairstylist agreed we need to see if, my hair would simply get coloured without dying it with bleach first. And we chose one shade lighter than my natural colour, so that, it wont be a drastic change and it turned out amazing.
And for the third time, I suggested we do two shades lighter than my natural colour, you can see in the second picture. It looks kid of red-ish yellow but the picture doesn't do it justice. It's a light chocolate with milk colour and though out the time it blended more and more with my natural hair colour.
I am definitely planning a fourth time around in which I will stick to my plan to only colour my hair without any bleach and I don't know I might do a combination of these two looks and also might go closer to my root.
