" You are a student.. whether the idea appeals to you or not. You're in love with knowledge "

I think that this book is about every teenager, that are in that stage of life when they need to figure out what to do. "Rules" of life are not easy because they are not written, but we follow them anyway. The book gave me the feeling that i need to explore more and nothing is over, even when i think it is, life goes on and you create for yourself a path. 

Holden Caulfield it is a teenager who tries to find his way though the crowd even if  he got expelled from three different high schools he continues living his life in NYC. After adventures like getting beat up by his dorm mate, getting drunk in a bar almost hooking up with some random person, walking all the way trough Central Park and broking into his own house to visit his sister, Phoebe, his parents find out about his school situation.

The only moment related to the rye it is when he realises that he doesn't want to have a boring job, he wants a job that allows him to stare at kids while they're playing in the rye.
